With the popularity of electric vehicles around the world, the importance of charging infrastructure is becoming increasingly prominent. EVSE, that is, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment as a standardized charging solution, is gradually promoted in Europe and even around the world.IEC AC charging pile refers to electric vehicle charging equipment that meets the IEC  (EN 62196-2), mainly using Type 2 interface. This standard was developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to provide a safe and efficient charging solution for electric vehicles.

1. Interface type

IEC AC charging piles mainly use the Type 2 interface, also known as the "Mennekes" interface. This interface has the following features:

- Versatile: The Type 2 interface supports both single-phase and three-phase AC power, suitable for electric vehicles with different power requirements.

- High security: The interface design takes into account the safety factors such as water, dust and anti-misinsertion to ensure the safety of the charging process.

- Strong compatibility: The Type 2 interface is widely used in European countries and has good interoperability.

2. Power range

The European standard AC charging pile has a wide power range, usually ranging from 3.7 kW to 22 kW. The specific power selection should be determined according to the battery capacity of the vehicle and the charging needs of the user.

3. Communication protocol

IEC AC charging pile uses the communication protocol of IEC 61851 standard to ensure effective communication between the charging pile and the vehicle. This protocol can monitor the charging status in real time, adjust the charging power, and ensure the safety and efficiency of the charging process.
