1. Classified by installation conditions, they are mainly divided into vertical charging pile and wall-mounted charging pile

Vertical charging pile do not need to be against the wall and are suitable for outdoor parking spaces or community parking spaces, while wall-mounted charging pile must be fixed on the wall and are suitable for indoor and underground parking spaces.

2. Classified by service objects, they are mainly divided into public charging pile, dedicated charging pile and self-use charging pile. Public charging pile are purchased by government agencies and other institutions with public service nature, and the service objects are any electric car owners, such as public parking lots.

Dedicated charging pile are mostly built by enterprises, and the service objects are customers and internal personnel, such as shopping mall parking lots. Self-use charging pile are private charging pile, installed in private areas, and are not open to the public.

3. Classify by the protection level of the installation location, mainly divided into indoor charging pile and outdoor charging pile

The protection level of indoor charging pile needs to reach at least IP32, while outdoor charging pile need to face the harsh environment of wind and rain, and need better insulation and lightning protection conditions. Its protection level must reach at least IP54 to ensure personal safety, vehicle body safety and charging equipment safety.

(IP is the international code used to identify the protection level. The IP level consists of two numbers. The first number indicates dust-proof; the second number indicates waterproof. The larger the number, the better the protection level.)

4. Classify by the number of charging ports, mainly divided into one pile one charge and one pile multiple charge

At present, the charging pile on the market are mainly one pile one charge. In large parking lots such as bus parking lots, multi-charge charging pile are needed to support multiple electric vehicles charging simultaneously, which not only speeds up charging efficiency but also saves labor.

5. Classification by charging type: mainly divided into AC charging pile and DC charging pile

AC charging pile generally have low current, small pile body, flexible installation, and full charge generally takes 6-8 hours. They are suitable for small passenger electric vehicles and are mostly used in public parking lots, large shopping malls and community garages. Most home charging pile are also AC charging pile. DC charging pile generally have high current, larger charging capacity in a short period of time, larger pile body, and larger occupied area (heat dissipation). DC charging pile are suitable for fast DC charging of electric buses, minibuses, hybrid buses, electric cars, taxis, engineering vehicles, etc.
