Global Clean Energy Electric Terminal Pin and Connector Manufacturer
IEC high-power DC EV charging socket CCS2, also known as Combined Charging System 2, is a standard socket type for charging electric vehicles. It is an electric vehicle charging interface adopted in Europe that can support alternating current (AC) charging and direct current (DC) charging. CCS2 charging sockets are gradually becoming one of the main standards for electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Europe.
CCS2 EV charging sockets usually include the following connectors and plugs:
Type 2 socket: For AC charging. This is a standardized European electric vehicle charging socket that can be used on ordinary household power supplies and public AC charging piles.
CCS Combo 2 EV charging socket: For DC charging. This socket adds two additional DC charging contact points on the basis of the Type 2 socket, enabling it to support higher power charging. The CCS Combo 2 EV charging socket can achieve high-power DC fast charging at charging stations equipped with corresponding equipment.
Many electric vehicles in Europe are equipped with charging interfaces compatible with CCS2 EV charging sockets, enabling them to be charged at charging stations that support the CCS2 standard. This standardized socket design helps simplify the EV charging infrastructure and enables electric vehicles of different brands and models to share charging stations, improving charging convenience and flexibility.
